DELIBERATELY LOOSING YOUR MIND

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?

It’s a photographic project based on anti beauty, in an era where everything is fake, where everything is designed to appear, even a simple photo has lost its spirit due to the editing. I decided to create a project that did reflect reality, or where the secondary part of the picture becomes the main part.

WHAT DOES YOUR ART FOCUS ON?

Photography basically.

WHAT TRIGGERS YOUR IMAGINATION?

Many things: music, lifestyle, philosophy, movies... Even everyday life triggers in me the desire of thought.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I’m Italian but I live and work in Ibiza.

WHEN DID YOU JOIN INSTAGRAM?

I downloaded the app a few days after its launch (October or November 2010). I created my page and started to understand how it works. Back then I found Instagram boring. It was only when my friends started using it that I got excited to share pictures.

HOW DID IT MAKE YOUR WORK EVOLVE?

I started by posting personal pictures, but last year I decided to focus only on my headless project. I started this project by chance and didn’t want to do it using myself in the pictures so I started collaboratring with Instagrammers from all over the world.

WHO DO YOU COLLABORATE WITH?

So far I've worked with more than twenty global magazines including Creative Review and Hint.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST?

Three pictures a week.

WHAT ACCOUNTS DO YOU FOLLOW RELIGIOUSLY?
From Mexico: @pacodelosmonteros @ manumanuti @mimivelarde @oscar_ro) but the list is very long..

the talented Portugese @o_pinheirojose, the Venezuelan buddy @esposin, the South African talent @hlonicoleman, the Italian @ benedettodemaio and of course @sijoeangin from Indonesia, but I can go on and on... I think the secret of my project is this, the simple connection with all these amazing artists from all the world that I've known throughout the years.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO?

Rock, alternative, noise, new wave and jazz but I prefer electronic for sure I’m totally in love with: Radiohead, Bjork, Depeche Mode, Laurie Anderson, Muse, Pink Floyd, Ennio Morricone, Royksopp.

WHAT ARE YOUR LATEST PROJECTS OR COLLABORATIONS?

I did a T-shirt collaboration with @Twicetoonice and I was positIvely surprised by the outcome as most of the line sold out in most of European countries in less than a month.
