i was fourteen years old when i encountered marie kosseify, my arabic teacher at school in beirut. like all great teachers, she saw something no one else had seen in me. and. her encouragement ignited my devotion to living a creative life. she taught me two essential lessons that i have carried with me ever since: the output of creativity is better when you work hard at it and that inspiration is like a relay race; sometimes you are inspired, and at other times, you yourself inspire. this issue of plastik, a relaunch edition after a long hiatus, was crafted in this spirit. an homage to creativity and artistic inspiration and a love letter to those who encourage us to reach for the stars.
