When I was a kid, all I would do was draw and collect pictures. And most of the time I would draw the pictures I collected. As a teenager, I had big interests in graphic design and illustration. It wasn’t until university, where I did illustration, design and photography in my first year, that I discovered photography. I received high distinctions in all subjects but decided that I wouldn’t spend the next four years doing something I knew, but rather something I knew little about, but loved as much. So,I majored in photo media and sub-majored in design.

IN 2005, KOREAN ARTIST JEONGMEE YOON LAUNCHED THE "PINK AND BLUE PROJECT", A SERIES OF IMAGES PORTRAYING CHILDREN SURROUNDED BY THEIR TOYS, CLOTHES AND OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS. IT APPEARS THAT GIRLS OVERWHELMINGLY COME IN PINK, WHILE BOYS LOVE BLUE. THE PROJECT WAS TRIGGERED BY YOON’S DAUGHTER, AS AT THE AGE OF SIX, SHE BECAME OBSESSED WITH PINK. SHE WANTED PINK CLOTHES AND PINK TOYS ONLY.

Usually my art is focused on everything that can move my mind, my feelings, my ideas and craziness. So it could be everything. But usually I like to represent something grotesque, ironic and iconic at the same time: these topics are really interesting and I like people's reactions after seeing my pics.

My art focuses on my thoughts and day dreams. I create digital collages and GIF’s that twist reality into a false reality. I’m obsessed with the idea of escapism and I love that I can create a world of my own using elements from every-day life. My collages tend to either be bright and bold in color or heavily black; it’s rare that I create work that looks photographic.

Emotions, objects, and colors. These are primary focuses of Venus Mansion but my art also expresses who I am. To be frank, Venus Mansion does not have a set of messages it wants to convey through art. As I mentioned before, it is the means for me to express myself and I would like my audiences to form their own opinions and draw a positive influence on creative activities.

I remake iconic alongside less well-known photographs in play-doh. One of the aims of the project is to lead people to discover new and potentially overlooked photography and photographers and show the diversity of photography over the past 150 years.

Our art mainly focuses on the remarkably ordinary things in life that one would presumably often overlook, we take this phenomena and strive to look at it from a different light and giving it the attention it needs. By incorporating simple everyday materials, one can easily relate to the familiarity and interpret the piece in their own way, hence appreciating the little things that go unnoticed.

I love things that make others uncomfortable. As I say on my profile, art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. At the same time, I love to give people support. It is amazing when I see people commenting, I described exactly what they were feeling.

An eclectic mix of the expressive, subversive and provocative within high fashion, gender play and big, big hair.

I would describe my work as my slogan "outing of line" (saliendome de la raya) with eroticism, humor and unconventional behavior - leaving behind taboos we had since we were kids. I’ve always thought to myself, “why not color outside the lines?”

This depends on whether I am working for a commission or doing personal work. Generally I focus my work on people having fun. My work is colorful and playful and the characters I use are the same - leisurely characters, sassy ladies up to no good, or people enjoying a glass of wine.

Juno Calypso loves to dress up. She always loved to take self-portraits, but recently gave her work a different swing by creating Joyce, a deadpan blond looking pretty in pink.
